Yep, this is pretty normal and usually not related to npm, PHP, or Composer. Most of the difference comes from OS and browser rendering. macOS and Linux handle fonts, form controls, and spacing differently, even with the same CSS. System fonts are a big one, macOS will always look smoother. Native file inputs and select components also vary a lot across OSes, which explains the avatar and roles fields. If you need consistent visuals, those usually need custom components and explicit sizing instead of defaults. Not sure if pixel-perfect parity across macOS and Linux is really achievable, but you can get very close by locking fonts, spacing, and testing in the same browser. If you can share which browser you are testing on and exact OS versions and any other additional details, that would help narrow it down. |

Below is a comparison between the Linux and macOS versions of the same interface.

macOS version (light theme — please focus on the roles and avatar section):
I’m trying to achieve the same visual result across npm, PHP, and Composer for both Linux and macOS, but the Linux output still looks noticeably different and less polished—especially in the roles and avatar area.
If there are platform-specific rendering differences (fonts, spacing, layout behavior, etc.) or best practices to ensure consistent UI across environments, I’d appreciate any guidance.
